The Folk of the Air Series by Holly Black This series truly gives me a lot of mixed feelings。 Did I love the writing style？ No。 I thought that parts of this series really dragged on， mostly in the first book。 I thought that the pace could have been a bit faster at times but this is something I think is just a personal preference as not everyone likes a faster-paced book。 I do think that Holly Black did an amazing job at world-building。 I was easily able to visualize and understand the complexity The Folk of the Air Series by Holly Black This series truly gives me a lot of mixed feelings。 Did I love the writing style？ No。 I thought that parts of this series really dragged on， mostly in the first book。 I thought that the pace could have been a bit faster at times but this is something I think is just a personal preference as not everyone likes a faster-paced book。 I do think that Holly Black did an amazing job at world-building。 I was easily able to visualize and understand the complexity of this world all the time， whether it be from the customs they had to the scenery from a window。 Did I love the characters？ I absolutely did！ I truly enjoyed the way these characters were， the good and the bad。 I really enjoyed watching some of these characters grow throughout the series。 I would recommend this series to someone who does not mind inner dialogue and lots of descriptive parts as I feel this book had a lot of those。 I think this series got better as it went on， book 3 being my favorite。 I honestly cannot wait to read the King of Elfhame book as I love love LOVE Cardan！ 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 I LOVE THIS SERIES！！！ I've read it last year， around November， I guess， because I saw it from an FB page I follow and I was desperate then because I wanted to read but couldn't。 Everything seemed so dull and boring and I don't know what to do with myself 😭 BUT THIS SERIES SAVED ME FROM MY READING SLUMP！！！I really， really，really love Cardan。 I even reread the whole series after because I couldn't get enough of it。 I find it a just bit unsatisfactory though because everything was told from Jude's I LOVE THIS SERIES！！！ I've read it last year， around November， I guess， because I saw it from an FB page I follow and I was desperate then because I wanted to read but couldn't。 Everything seemed so dull and boring and I don't know what to do with myself 😭 BUT THIS SERIES SAVED ME FROM MY READING SLUMP！！！I really， really，really love Cardan。 I even reread the whole series after because I couldn't get enough of it。 I find it a just bit unsatisfactory though because everything was told from Jude's POV。 Maybe it was needed to keep Cardan's emotions a mystery or something like that。 But still， I would've loved it better if Cardan had his own chapters to tell （I've read How the king of elfhame learned to hate stories， I did， but that's different）。 I hope Holly will find it in her heart to go back to Elfhame and tell the whole story（ or at least the important parts of it like what happened while Jude was a captive in the sea or that time when he went charging in the human's world when Jude was taken by his foster father in book 3，looking for her） from Cardan's POV。 I know I'm not the only one who's hoping for this。 AND I STILL CANNOT MOVE ON FROM THE BOOKS EVEN IF IT HAS BEEN MONTHS！ I cannot seem to find another book that will fascinate me half as much as this book did。 So hat's off to the author who created this magical world of Elfhame and the characters I cannot help but hate and love。。。。 ❤❤❤ 。。。more

I absolutely loved this trilogy！！ I had never really gotten into the fiction genre before， but this trilogy completely changed my perspective。 It was so well written and planned out， I read the three books in less then two days because I seriously couldn’t put them down。 Also， I loved the character development and how independent the female lead was。 She was both relatable and self resilient， but also had the best enemies to lovers slow burn relationship with the prince。 I seriously wish I could I absolutely loved this trilogy！！ I had never really gotten into the fiction genre before， but this trilogy completely changed my perspective。 It was so well written and planned out， I read the three books in less then two days because I seriously couldn’t put them down。 Also， I loved the character development and how independent the female lead was。 She was both relatable and self resilient， but also had the best enemies to lovers slow burn relationship with the prince。 I seriously wish I could read it over and over again。 I loved it so much。 。。。more

First I fell in love with Jude， Cardan second！ I adored this series and saw myself in both characters at times。 I was so sad that I had to return to reality once I finished reading。 I also read the Lost Sisters and How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories to get Taryn and Cardans point of view and a little more backstory， which was sort of emotional！ I gave the Cruel Prince a 4 star rating， the Wicked King and the Queen of Nothing was 5 stars for me。 :）

I loved these books so much omg！ I really enjoyed the world building in this and I’m in love with all the characters。 The only thing I didn’t like it that there isn’t really enough？？？ I just feel like there was so much we missed out on， we barely scratched the surface of Jude and Cardan’s relationship on a romantic level。 There was a lot of enemies without much of the lover part。 But I read the entire trilogy in literally a day because I just couldn’t put the books down lol
